Robaxin (Methocarbamol)
Common use
Robaxin is a muscle relaxant used for relieving muscle pain and discomfort caused by sprains and strains. Use it in combination with physical therapy and rest for a better result.
Dosage and direction
Take it orally with or without food/milk.
The recommended dose for adults is 2 tablets four times a day, but therapeutic response has been achieved with a dose of 1 tablet three times a day.
Children: Not recommended.

Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to methocarbamol or any of the other excipients in Robaxin. Also contraindications include: coma or pre-coma states, brain damage or epileps, myasthenia gravis.
Drug interactions
Robaxin may inhibit the effect of pyridostigmine bromide. Therefore, Robaxin should be used with caution in people with myasthenia gravis receiving anticholinesterase agents.
Overdose
An overdose of Robaxin can be fatal.
Symptoms of overdose include extreme drowsiness, nausea, blurred vision, feeling like you might pass out, or seizure (convulsions).
Missed dose
If you have forgotten to take your dose in time, please do it as soon as you remember. But do not take if it is too late or almost time for your next dose. Do not increase your recommended dose. Take your usual dose next day at the same time regularly.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 20-25 C (68-77 F).
Precautions
Use caution with renal or hepatic impairment. Also Robaxin may cause drowsiness or dizziness, which may impair their ability to operate motor vehicles or machinery. Because Robaxin may possess a general CNS-depressant effect, patients should not be used it with alcohol and other CNS depressants.
Possible side effects
Immediately find medical help if you experience any of any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
More serious if you have reaction like: slow heart rate; feeling like you might pass out; jaundice (yellowing of your skin or eyes); confusion, spinning sensation, loss of balance; or seizure (convulsions).
Do not disregard such possible side effects like dizziness, drowsiness; nausea, vomiting; warmth, redness, or tingly feeling under your skin; fever; headache; memory problems; blurred vision; sleep problems (insomnia); stuffy nose; or mild skin rash or itching.
Anyway, consult your doctor if you experience one of them, even if they are insignificant.
