Usage indications
Levlen is used for pregnancy prevention by ovulation suppress (ovule getting out of ovary) and causes neck of womb mucous membrane thickening, by creating difficulties for sperm to get into the womb.
Application mode
Use Levlen strictly in accordance with your doctor recommendations.
Mechanism of action
Levonorgestrel - the form of progesterone, being female hormone, participating at conception.
Missed doses
If you miss the drug dosage be sure to take it, as soon as you remember about it. Take next dose at usual time. This means you can take 2 doses in one day. If you have missed several doses, be sure to contact your doctor.
Storage
Store this drug at room temperature of 36 - 86 F (15 - 30 C degrees), away from light and humidity.
Precautions
This drug is not recommended for intake in case you have any of the following diseases:
- Pregnancy, suspicions of being pregnant, uterine problems (e.g., cancer, endometriosis, miomas, pelvic organs inflammation or PID), vaginal problems (infections), liver diseases or edema, diseases affecting immunal system (AIDS, leicosis), mammary gland, previous metacyesis, other EUS (extrauterine spiral). Inform your doctor about your medical history, such as: about bleeding problems (e.g., menstrual changes, coagulability problems), heart problems (e.g., valves innate patologies), migraine, diabetes, and any allergy.
This drug can not be used during pregnancy. In case if you are pregnant or suspect being pregnant, be sure to inform your doctor immediately.
Consult your doctor on the risks related to pregnancy, when using this product. Levlen gets to mother milk and can cause serious side effects for kids.
Consult your doctor in case you do breast feeding.
Side effects
Irregular vaginal hemorrhage (e.g., bloody discharges), spasms, headache, nausea, chest pain, acne, rash, hair losses, or weight decrease. Be sure to contact your doctor in case if any of the following side effects persist or getting worse. Inform your doctor immediately in case if the following serious side effects arise: periods' absence, fever, shivering, stomach pain, breathing problems, psychic /mood changes, sexual desire decrease, vaginal edema/itch, painful sex.
Be sure to inform your doctor immediately in case if any of these rare but serious side effects arise: migraine head ache, nausea, increased tiredness, long and heavy vaginal bleeding, unusual vaginal discharges, appearance of smell or ulcers, heaviness at stomach lower part /pains at pelvis lower part, chest constraints, eyes or skin yellowing, dark urine, urination problems. Contact your doctor in case you've noticed other side effect not listed in this manual.
Additional information
Try not to smoke. Smoking increases the risk of heart attack, apoplexy or trombus development.
