Application
Urispas is used to relieve pain during urination and reduceе the frequency of impulses as well as nighttime urination associated with certain diseases. It can be used in combination with other medicines to treat ulcers. It can also be used for other treatment purposes as defined by your doctor.
Mode of application
Use Urispas as prescribed by your doctor. Follow the directions on the label.
- Read the instructions carefully. Talk to your pharmacist if you have any questions on mode of application. Take Urispas 30 minutes after a meal each day.
- Swallow the tablet whole without chewing.
- If you miss a dose of Urispas, take it as soon as possible. If this occurred while taking your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once. If you miss more than 2 doses of Urispas, contact your doctor for instructions.

Urispas is used to relieve pain and reduce the frequency of urination as well as nighttime urination associated with certain diseases. It can be used in combination with other medicines to treat ulcers. It can also be used for other treatment purposes as defined by your doctor.
Urispas is anticholinergic. It works by decreasing muscle spasms of the bladder.
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose.
Storage
Store the drug at room temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. No long-term storage between 59-86 degrees (15-30 degrees C) is not allowed.
Precautions
DO NOT use Urispas, if:
- you are allergic to any ingredient in Urispas;
- you are taking other alpha-blockers (eg, prazosin).
Contact your doctor immediately if any of the possible contraindications apply to you.
Some medicines may interact with Urispas. Tell your doctor if you have any medical conditions, especially from the list below, that apply to you:
- if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breast-feeding;
- If you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplements;
- if you have allergies to medicines or other substances;
- if you have had a severe allergic reaction (e.g. severe rash, hives, difficulty in breathing, dizziness) to any sulfonamide (sulfa) such as acetazolamide, celecoxib, certain diuretics (e.g. hydrochlorothiazide), sulfonylureas (e.g. glyburide), probenecid, sulfamethoxazole, valdecoxib or zonisamide;
- if you have high blood pressure or prostate cancer;
- if you had or going to have eye surgery.
Some medicines may interact with Urispas. Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, especially any from the list below:
- Alpha-blockers (e.g. prazosin) or phosphodiesterase inhibitors (e.g. sildenafil) as they may cause symptoms of low blood pressure (e.g. severe dizziness, dizziness, fainting);
- Azole antifungals (e.g. ketoconazole), cimetidine or serotonin specific reuptake inhibitors (e.g. fluoxetine) as they may increase the risk of exposure to Urispas;
- Warfarin as the risk of side effects may be increased.
Side effects
Consult your doctor if any of the most common side effects persist or become frequent:
- Back pain, blurred vision, cough, decreased sexual ability, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, runny or stuffy nose, sore sinuses, sleep problems, weakness.
Consult the doctor immediately if any of the serious side effects occur:
- Severe allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching, shortness of breath, chest tightness, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue), chest pain, fainting, fever, chills, or persistent sore throat, irregular heartbeat, prolonged , painful erection, heavy persistent dizziness.
Additional information
Do not use this medication with other drugs. Laboratory and / or medical tests (e.g. prostate exams, prostate-specific antigen, PSA, or kidney tests) should be performed periodically to monitor your progress or check for side effects.
